I looked into starting a Ky club about five years back. If you are willing to put forth the effort, I'll happily lend hand. Here are a few knowns I will go ahead and pass along:

1) It is going to be a tremendous amount of work to make a mildly successful club.

2) Both the population density and median wage of Ky and Tn stifled initial sales of the SHO in the area.

3) Both Ky and Tn are dump states for wholesalers, so the numbers of SHO's in the region has grown slightly in the past 12 years, but we are still significantly eclipsed by areas like Michigan's LP. Last tri-state meet I attended had about 30 SHO's, IIRC, and it wasn't their big annual meet.

4) Northern Ky is a hard sell for centralized meets due to the proximity of other clubs, so the meets must be worth attending. Most of the SHO's in Ky are in northern Ky due to Louisville and Lexington metros.

If this has not already been done, I would suggest we start active threads on all known Taurus and SHO sites, to run for a two-week period. We need to locate all online enthusiasts, both active and partially active. Someone should collect email addresses so we can start messaging directly until a permanent forum is in place.

Whatever you do, don't be disheartened. It's fall, halloween is right around the corner, the turkey is not far away, and many of us are busy with familial responsibilites that pre-empt certain "expendable" activities, like reading up on the forums.

Five.

David

It seems like I might have talked to you when you were trying to start something up...

I'm in. I'm in Knoxville, and I know a few others are too.

Anyone know who owns the gen1 Black SHO with white letter fill I saw yesterday at the Pilot on the corner of Western and University?

Other than that I've seen SHOtimes car on 40 several times.

I just got my 92 back to daily condition (barely) so if you see a 92 green/black SHO with severely faded paint on the hood, that's me.

I see lots of gen2s around, a few gen 3s and just a few gen1s around town. Someone that goes to UT has a mocha gen1. Then I see lots of green gen2s around, mostly autos (I always check when they sit in a parking lot.)

Anyway, if we could have meets or if anyone has access to nice tools/workspace we should meet at their house

Then if anyone needs parts there is a green/mocha 92 and a white/mocha 90 at the new pull-a-part on Rutledge Pike.

Nope I went probably 2-3 weeks ago. I've heard it takes roughly 3 months for a car to disappear off the lot.

Might have to get up there and grab some things while I can.

One of the guys that works there has a SHO and he said the SHO's hardly ever get touched. From what I saw last week a couple of interior pieces and and some cam gears are just about all that's missing.
