I tried to shift my SHO in reverse yesterday and the clutch pedal just stuck to the floor and wouldn't come back up. Later I found I could wiggle the pedal up and down, but whatever it was connected to was detached. Had it towed to the shop. My mechanic tells me it needs a new shifter cable. The mechanic is a good honest guy and I have known him for years, so he ain't pulling my leg. Here's the question: I thought I read somewhere they stopped putting cable shifters in SHOs sometime around 92'. Am I misinformed? Shouldn't I have a rod shifter in mine? frown

Ford did change over to a rod linkage shifter in June of 1991 as a running production change. All MTX SHOs, however, use a cable linkage between the clutch pedal and the clutch lever on the transmission.
