Yes, the SAI pump = smog pump. The actual pump is located underneath the battery box, mounted on the subframe. piping runs to a valve under the TB, and from there lines go to each exhaust manifold (you can easily see the line into the bank 2 manifold).

Yes I hear it at start up for about 5 seconds, I think this is the same sound I am hearing at idle sometimes. I was just out on the interstate a few minutes ago. At 2500 rpm I floored it and the drivetrain performed as it should, this car is still quick. After a few miles of steady driving, I got off the interstate and putted around town and the drivetrain had one hiccup, I was at low rpms and was just cruising through town in traffic. I let off the gas and it was fine again. At a stoplight I heard the buzz again for about 2 seconds, so I think the buzz has been identified now as the SAI, still working on the other.

I never hear mine run actually. With the other problems your are having I would try to clean all of the grounds just to make sure. If you have a ground problem, then little fluctuations in the battery voltage could make the computer freak out. Just a thought and easy to do.

That sounds like a good idea, I read an article on V8SHO about someone cleaning every electrical connection under the hood, that is my new project.

You are as likely to get bad info at V8SHO.com as good, beware.
