after about 2 years being out of a sho the bug has bitten and i cant deny the practicality of a sho and the performance to keep me happy lol
looking at a 2010 sho 420a pretty much loaded car it has 82k on the clock and they are offering a 30 day warranty on the car as well as the ability to get a extended warranty as well
what should i be looking for when i go drive the car ? obvious squeeks and rattles i know but any other driveline things that i may notice or specific procedures to go thru to make sure all is well

I'd go through the TSB list, to be honest, to get an idea of possible issues. Sources abound on the internet, and you can also go here: http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?topic=496 Peeling chrome on tail lights is a common issue. Solved by plastidipping/painting, replacement & washing VERY gingerly, or replacement with lower trim level non-chrome tail lights.

Make sure the fluids look good and that it drives well in your test drive (should include some hard runs & cornering).

Check to see if the knock sensor wires are chafing/rubbing. That can cause loss of power. PCM programming should be up-to-date.

In addition, may be a good idea to have an independent mechanic get underneath the car and check out the suspension. A few higher mileage SHOs have had their shock/strut components wear out/leak.

Finally, get ready to change out the spark plugs (could have cracked insulators or just be worn out), and the PTU oil (could be sludged up).

I hope it is a clean one for you. Mine now has 84K and I am AMAZED there are no squeaks or rattles. Traded up from a 2004 vue redline. Have had it one year - was CPO and I put 20K on it. I got a deal so also bought the extended warranty to 120K.

I got service history from my dealer. Mine had front wheel bearings replaced once at 50K and the dealer replaced spark plugs At 60K.

I'm very happy with it - and will be plasticoating my tail light chrome this weekend weather permitting.

Good luck. There is one just like mine with 49K for $20K at a local dealer.

yea they are hard to find around here for under 20k im a 15yr mechanic so im pretty good about listening for issues and problems and being able to feel if something isnt quite right in a car pretty fast, i was planning on requesting a car fax and any service history that could be dug up on the car before a deal was made anyhow to make sure all proper maintenance has been done

If your looking at a 2010, the later builds of that MY are identified by having a trunk pull down strap and the drive lettered indicator to the left of the shift handle is a matte finish instead of high polish. In addition to these easily visible changes, there were several mid-year ongoing changes that Ford made, some were issued as TSB's.
I personally wouldn't get one of the early builds, but, you might be fine.
