Hi everyone,

I have reach the limit of the stock motor with my upgraded turbos. I'm planning to upgrade the internal, so I would to hear some suggestions. Is adding sleeves necessary? What power level will be my limt with just forged pistons and Rods?

Happy to hear thoughs and information

Thanks

I think the real limit is the transmission holding or not. Unless you go high boost, closed deck isn’t necessary although it’s highly recommended. One of the “while you’re in there” mods you “should” do. Plus what about the timing chain and water pump? The reason those repairs are so expensive is bc it’s labor intensive. If you have the motor out it’s a lot easier. Another “while you’re in there” replacement worth doing.

There’s not exactly a wrong way of going about rebuilding the engine. Just have to wonder if you want to deal with opening it up again or be one and done with it and do as much as possible. Then you can just worry about the trans

What turbos are you running
Pure turbo stage 2. I think that no one used them before in this platform they are bit bigger than the ATPs at 20 psi I'm HAVING around 60% WGD.

Sounds good,, I agree on doing one time and no need to open it again.

Never heard of those in this platform. If you are wanting to maximize them to their fullest assuming they are bigger than ATP you'll want a closed deck then. Realistically you'll need almost an entire short block lol.

BMW N55 turbos? That’s the application for Pure Turbo Stage 2 correct?

If you are in there doing engine work, do some research on what can be transferred from the Raptor 3.5l.
I know there is a little bit extra to make the Raptor crank work, but it is totally doable and gives you peace of mind in that department.

No extra work needed. Fits right in.

Doesn’t the pulley need to be changed out?
I mean it's not a bunch of work you just have to buy the timing sprocket and the appropriate 16+ crank pulley, but as for the raptor crank, it fits right in no extra work.

What would be the benefit of running the Raptor shaft?

It's forged and built stronger and apparently has some slight changes to it's oiling properties...plus it's cool to say you have parts off a Raptor in it. LoL Now, if only I could get my hands on some Ford GT heads...
