Here next week I am going to take my 2011 Sho pp (CAI corsa system with quad tips straight piped and unleaded 93 tune, 170tstat 3bar) to the strip to see what it runs. Whenever I am WOT I notice the boost is never the same. Sometimes I run 14psi. Sometimes 12. Sometimes 19. The most ever was 22.93. How I can get it to always hit 18+ pounds?? Feathering the gas helps build it. Anyone else with a tune ever watch there min and max psi. Give me your thoughts on this.

Not to throw your thread off track, but you said you have "quad tips?" Any pics you can post? I love the quad tips look!

Stock turbos max out their efficiency at 16-18 psi. Any more, and it's not worth running them continuously at high psi. Spikes are OK. In any case, it is not really known what longterm effects running at high psi for long periods would have on the engine's lifespan. Might blow the head gaskets or worse.

Boost levels will vary with gear, gear shifts, throttle position, etc. It is perfectly normal, part of torque management to keep the engine & drivetrain working together seamlessly. Since the turbos are small, they have very little lag, so that gives the computer (PCM) more flexibility as well, optimizing power & efficiency.

Thanks Shodded. Wasn't to sure. I know some boost cars have a power gear usually being third. Didnt know if these were set up that way or not.
