Not weird at all.

Things are about to get fast and fun!

Hang on!

I’m not scared

Mind posting a link to your Alky install thread? I’ve heard it’s good. Wondering how bad the back of my intake valves are with 38k miles. Hoping meth cleans all that out. Guess I’m going to need to get rid of the noise maker too?

Yeah, I saw that. I was looking for some info other than that review before I bought. But that’s all I could find. But for just $450 shipped I had to do it. I’m familiar with Chinese made kits like this. They usually fit, but are rarely 100% perfect. If they haven’t fixed the mounting position of the rear o2 sensor, I’ll figure it out. As long as they go in without touching each other I should be able to make it work. I’m sure build and material quality is fine. Since I got it from Amazon, I can an always send it back.

Where did you get that PI grille? I was having mine plastidipped next week but this looks sweet.
Thanks. Got it from amazon. If I were you I would just buy the grill. Plastidip is a less than permanent solution.

Do you have a link? I can’t seem to find it. I searched under several common sense tags for our cars. No luck though. Thx!!

It’s listed as,

“ Genuine Ford DG1Z-8200-AA Radiator Grille Assembly “

There’s actually quite a few available from other sellers there. Even cheaper than what I paid for this one.

As for the spring install, it went well. But I have this horrible creaking sound when I turn the wheel. I see that other people have experienced this. But I don’t see that anyone has ever solved the issue. It sounds like there’s some friction between the coil spring and the rubber. Anyone run into this issue? Have a fix? We tried everything. Lubed contact areas between coil and rubber. Adjusted tension on the bolt from none at all, to fully tight. No change. Hating the sound.

So the H&R springs have only been on for a day. Not happy. The noise while turning the wheel doesn’t work for me. So I’m ordering the BC coilovers. I’ve found them for $995 on Amazon. They should be a step up from the Megan’s. Ordering now. Was trying to avoid coilovers, but the lack of options for this platform leave me no choice.

I have the same issue after installing the H&Rs, couldn't resolve it either.

But for just $450 shipped
- I am sure they will work fine for you and I am not someone who throws money away, But if it's at all possible I try an buy American, My catted PPE pipes where twice as much as yours buy they are incredibly well built and will last the life of the car an then some. To me they where well worth what I paid for them and so much nicer then the stock pipes.

That is the first I have heard about noise from the springs and that concerns me, since the H&R springs where on my list of things to do. CoilOver are very cool but they are a whole different animal, many people out here have them an love them BUT from my reading it will dramatically changes the way the car rides an handles, they also require a bit of work to set up properly an maintain.
Just my two cents I saw your post an was meaning to comment, looks like your building a really nice car, Have a great day.

Do the people that have creaking sound have the PP option on your cars? Just wondering is this makes a difference? I've had H&R on my car for over 2 years now and not a single issue! The ride quality is fine and no creaking or squeaking noises.

Non-PP here.

So I wonder if that might play into the issues...?? The SHO Performance Package includes an "enhanced sport-tuned suspension," performance friction brake pads, sport-calibrated steering, AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control “Sport Mode” setting, 3.16:1 final drive ratio, Alcantara® trimmed steering wheel, P245/45R20 Performance Summer Tire Compound,1 and tire inflator and sealant/kit (n/a with Driver Assist Package)shocks, suspension, etc...

And this is from Road & Track when they did a review of the SHO with the PP option: Chassis upgrades include stiffer front springs to reduce understeer and a front anti-roll bar that's actually a little smaller to get the car to roll and pitch in a more predictable and balanced fashion. The shock absorbers have been modified for better low-speed damping, and the electric-assist steering has been recalibrated for better feedback

That probably explains why I've never had any issues with H&R.

I'd be all for a grille swap on mine, but bumper removal is a big hassle I don't want to deal with.
