I want to keep the car very plain. PI wheels, stock intake and exhaust. Tune, MAP, stat, plugs, and a killer meth kit. I live in terrible turbo weather. So I want to make sure I’m getting the right meth kit, and the best meth/E85 tune. I would like to have a 93 tune, meth tune, and an e85/meth tune for the track. I’m just conflicted as to who I have do the tune. Anyone have any input on the best meth kit and tune to go with it?

Livernois and their kit? Or Torrie and that sick ass snow kit?

No kit is going to be infallible, but as of late, seems Alky has become an even wiser decision. Yes, there are plenty of Snow kits working just fine, but the customer service in case something goes wrong is just horrid. Alky's & Julio's reputation has always preceded them. bpd is the only one I know who even keeps a spare pump/rebuild kit, but if you can swing it, do that too. 100% meth especially if you can find it easily/cheaply. No need to play with washer fluid.

Tuner is your choice. Alky - Livernois have been at it for a while. Any other meth kit, you have to look elsewhere. Unleashed/Torrie is a great choice also.

Don’t overlook AJPTurbo as a tuner.. I have a wicked very very low 12 second SHO with the Alky Kit (cannot recommend Alky enough) and AJPTurbos Tune. Besides the coilovers which dropped my ride height, my car looks stock...

FYI Livernois is switching to their direct port meth injection which requires you to to have them install it and pay for the dyno tuning. They also will not do E blended tunes unless you buy their HPFP which will require another dyno tune. They are expensive but don’t require repeated datalogging...

AJPTurbo will tune everything you mentioned remotely.

Just PM him!

Well, cars here. Time to get down to business. The car I bought already has the LMS 93 tune, MAP, stat, plugs. So I’m going to go right into the meth kit and suspension. The car is damn near flawless. But it’s a huge whale. Just barely fits in my garage. I’m going to do the suspension first. Just springs and rear sway bar for right now. I’m looking for a firm spring that doesn’t bounce a lot. Improved nosedive. Rear doesn’t have to be super low. Would like to go eibach for springs and sway bar. Any suggestions for springs that would fit the bill? And for the sway bar?

Thanks

Eibach's are no longer available, and haven't been for quite some time.

You may get lucky and somehow find them 3rd party used, or a perhaps even a rare vendor with a set back in inventory that was never accounted for...... but highly doubtful.

Ordered a set of H&R springs last night. I guess Im going to need caster bolts for the rear. Still need to track down good sway bar.

So what do you guys do to stiffen up the back end and reduce body roll? Just a different end link?

So far the best option is BC Racing Coilovers or the Megan Racing Coilovers for an upgraded suspension. You can adjust ride height, dampening, and preload....

If you stiffen up the shocks/struts with the dampening adjustments it really helps with the body roll...

I personally have the Megan’s and the car stays flat for the most part... I can kick the rear out without much of any body roll... the front doesn’t dive or lean into turn anymore... she just stays flat...

Best money on a suspension for these cars... HRs are not bad but if you have 50K miles on the stock struts and shocks you should replace those when you install the new springs.. which makes the costs almost comparable to Megan’s...

Just my .02 for what it’s worth.

I had Megan’s on the car I just parted out. I liked them. But since I’m not worried about getting the perfect ride height, coils and better shocks get the job done. I was hoping to find some Bilstein shocks. No luck so far.

So today I had the car detailed at the the house. First wash and wax. Noticed something disturbing. The paint around the tail light (trunk lid) is making contact with the light. Resulting in little chips of the paint. Wondering if this is common? Or was this thing hit, and poorly reassemble. All the gaps look pretty even compared from side to side. Both plastic roof rails are loose and have rubber that is deteriorating. Here’s a few pics from today.

Damn you people and your palm trees. You always have to rub it in don’t you? JK. That’s the bad part of getting a new to you car and doing the first detail. You find all the nicks and chips you didn’t see because you were so pumped up. Have fun modding!!!

Always one thing or another. Peeling chrome, alignment issues, or ^^^. Might be worth removing the taillamps and looking more closely at what's going on. Itty bitty rust spots could be forming, heaven forbid

Well, things have been set in motion. Received my H&R springs today. I’ll install the springs this weekend. Installed k&n drop in filter. Bought the Alky kit and meth tune. Things are about to get weird.
