Car was driving normally, got on highway opened it up to engage the turbos, started bucking, cel came on, smelled fuel. Drove 3 miles home, took out plugs, #1 was soaked with gas, all others were perfect. Car lost a coil @40,000 all replaced with fomoco, now has 83,000. Is this more likely an injector issue or a coil/spark plug? It's a stock 2012. Awaiting the bad news.

could be injectors, does seem to be a relatively weak point on this platform. do 1, do em all. hopefully a very recent occurrence so the cats are unharmed.

Thanks Shodded, forgot to mention, four months ago I was driving around town 25-35 mph for about 15 minutes, when I got near my house and slowed to about 10mph it started bucking and felt like it was going to stall but kept going the 2 blocks to home. I shut it, smelled fuel, no cel ever came on. 3 hours later I started it and drove. All was back to normal and I put about 1000 miles on it since then. Don't know if that helps clarify. Sorry for the omission.

Being an intermittent issue it could be a dirty or failing injector, good idea to replace all like @SHOdded said, when you replaced the coils were they oem or aftermarket? Even the MSD ones have a bad reputation around here for failing early. Forscan and the obd adapter I sent you will be your best friends. And then people like Shodded will be your best friend making sense of what forscan tells you lol

Update: I confirmed the stuck open injector by doing the "flood start" with the plugs out. The bad one sprayed a lot. Put some Lucas in the tank. Ran a little rough for about a minute, but not bad enough to make me shut it down. Long story short, been driving it 15-20 miles a day whenever I get the chance- 300 miles so far with no problem. The plan is to keep Lucas in it until bottle finished, go back to Techron (my brother always used it with each oil change) and hope for the best. Thanks to Shodded for the link to the injector swap video. I'll keep you posted.

I was told by several people the lucas fuel treatment is bad news, I did royal purple and other than a quick o2 malfunction (both banks sensor 1) its been good so far. Oriellys guy tried to sell me on the fuel treatment that cleans your cats too.....

Thanks for the input on Lucas. Did the guys who said it was no good have sho's or direct injection. I'll pull a plug and see if anything looks off. So far it runs smooth.

No it was a couple guys with diesels and a couple mechanics, I run lucas in my oil but the horror stories about the fuel treatment steered me away, the rp is about the same cost and I did it as a hail Mary to help with my shutter. Probably fine but if you notice something strange might be worth changing over

I know this last post seemed to end the discussion, my best product experiences have been around a company that specializes in chemical products. I have used their products since I was a kid, now in my 50's have always relied on their quality.

not saying best/better/bestest - just a good quality product.

CRC is my go to for cleaners, honestly didn't know they had additives. Red can brakleen, if you're not seeing spots it's not clean
