This is a VERY long over due review. How ever. I think it should be posted.

Bruce did excellent work on my 95 MTX SHO. Tho I have sold it.
He pointed how the idiot befor put the clutch in backwards. How many bolts were missing, upside down, loose ( like the rod shifter where the bolt was 1 turn away from falling out) or the wrong ones, including the CRANK bolt he found while doing my clutch job. Wich in turn Is the reason I sold the car. I just did not have the money at the time to replace the motor.
He found problems with the steering because of the previous owners rigging. And the motor mount that was brand new the bolts had been installed wrong and was almost ready to fall off also fixed. He found many things that alot of garages would over look.
All in all he made the car safer, replaced all the wrong bolts/nuts/parts with correct ones minus the crank bolt that was stripped out. The car was 100% better driving when I left there. If it wasnt for the motor I would still have it.

I would recomend his service's to anyone. He did an excellent job. And if Im still in this area when I get another SHO and a problem comes up I can not tackle my self, I will be brining my car back to him! :thumb:

He's located in Albany, NY

Bruce also did a good job on my 3.2 build. I went up to Albany and he had it ready with new rod bearings, and 3.0 cams.

Yes he does do the ALSFB's
he installed my set while the subframe was off.

Actually the clutch being in backwards didnt hurt anything. It was aftermarket and had bolts instead of rivets. the clutch was engaging on the bolts. Didnt hurt anything luckly cause I took it easy on the SHo for the first month I had it. ( thinking it was a bad pressure plate ) and turned out to be so much more. Bruce did a great job.:thumb:

fyi, the bolts are all the way on the outside of the clutch where no friction material is. There is no way the clutch could engage "on the bolts". Also, if the clutch disc was indeed installed backwards, the pressure plate would have removed itself from the flywheel.

Bruce Asked me to post this after he read RStalveyARFF had posted.

"Sorry but the PP was not anywhere near removing itself from the flywheel because of this. The person he originally bought the car from had installed the clutch disc backwards, meaning he installed the "engine side" out. one can see from the pictures taken after the flywheel was bolted back up that there are marks in the heads of the bolts. That was where the clutch disc was making contact with the bolts http://tinyurl.com/2x7nwk, and then one can match these up with the obvious problems on the disc where it was hitting the FW bolts. http://tinyurl.com/2cdqc5 & http://tinyurl.com/yu5fmt This was causing all sorts of shifting problems because some ******* couldn't read.

That said there were a host of other screw ups that were found, from the hardware store SAE bolt as a crank bolt, to missing a few tranny to block bolts, and the missing bolt on the intermediate shaft (there are only 2 holding that in place and one was not there)

These aren't S&MSHO's fault cause he bought the car that way, but they were all things I pointed out to him when he brought the car down to me.

To say that the PP would have removed itself from the flywheel is pure speculation. With the kind of shifting problems the car was having, NO-ONE in thier right mind would keep driving it for 1000's of miles till something like a PP flying could have happened. As you can see from the pics, the metal spring areas on the disc were wearing down because of it and if anything eventually the disc as a whole might have come apart.

I have seen other transmissions that have sheered off all three FW dowels because the PP bolts are loose, and have been driven for 10k like that and never had the PP remove itself from the FW. Ask Kevin Hanks about the PP bolts on his 92, and what we found when I took it apart.

Basically the clutch disc as a whole was hanging up and not disengaging completely when shifting because it was hitting the FW bolts in the middle there. So rather than having the friction material do the work on the FW, the metal of the disc was providing the friction, hence his slippage and difficulty shifting"

My dad brought his 90 sho to him and got his clutch and flywheel replaced. Also bought a set of his ASFB and got them installed. he aslo did the rod bearings. He also swaped out the cable shifter for the rod shifter and installed a new PS rack and installed all new brake lines and MC. And their were MANY other things we had him due also. And now the car runs better tha the ay we bought it, used.
He does great work. Apperantly what ever happend in the past, is exaclty that, in that past.
I would have no problem going to him again or recommending him to anybody. his prices were also very fair.
