well guys i did the search and gathered some info. I checked on ford's site for the recall about my car but it says there isnt any. So hen i have o do it because the other day i was driving and head a big clunk making a right turn and go figure, snapped the bolt on the passenger side rear.

My question is how hard is it to do this because im going to order the recall kit tomorrow. Is it ok to drive till i get the kit in? I drive a total of 1 mile a day, 1/2 mile to work and 1/2 mile back.

1/2 mile? I'd walk. Do not drive it as it will cause more damage. The recall kit will include the instructions which are somewhat detailed and easy to follow. You will need a holesaw (1 1/2" IIRC) and a floor jack to do it.

Who installed your AL bushings? If its the same car? The bolts should have been replaced then.

2" hole saw, and a metal one if possible. Start the soaking of PB blaster NOW. Bolt on the nut on top, and any part of the bolt you can get to. the '93 was bad enough that the bolts FUSED to the washers. It turned a 2 hour job into about a 4 1/2 hour job.:nut:

well worked on the sho today and took care of the sub frame bolt.
My car had aleady had the recall done so it was easy to see threw the hole.
The plate had broken off the nut so the bolt had movement up and down about an inch.

Took old one out and new one in, Worked out fine took 15 minutes.
Thanks guys

The recall nut was designed to NOT do that, as the factory ones were stamped plate and the recall plates were welded to the nut. or something to that effect.

The green 94' I bought had the recall done on it at some point (holes drilled in correct places, dealership records showed it done.) Both rear recall washers rusted completely through and the rear subframe dropped - that's how I got it for so cheap. I really did a double take when I realized the recall had already been done once - Massachusetts rust sucks.
