Cracked the threads that house the coolant temperature sensor. I wil no thave time to mess with it until next week. While welding the cams, I got a glimpse of the lower intake manifold. What I need to know (sure I will find out soon) is if that housing that holds those 2 sensors are bolted to the lower manifold, or if it is part of the lower manifold? Then, I need to know who has one and how much it will cost to get it to me!

My car was running a little hot after I did thermostat, CTS, and temp switch. Put another t stat in yesterday thinking I bought a bad one. Had no effect. Did a little more troubleshooting and noticed that the fans wer enot coming on until the gauge went pretty high. The fans would come on, and then shut ff once the car was at normal operating temp again. I knew this was not right, as though the fans should come on as soon as it starts to go anywhere over 180. SO I then suspected a bad CTS. Changed it, cracked the housing in the process, but now it does not run hot! WOOT, but I guess it will when it runs out of antifreeze, though. It leakes pretty bad.

If that housing is bolted to the lower manifold, it will not be too bad to change out, if it built into the lower manifold, then I will curse Yamaha, and then proceed to dissasemble the top of the motor again...

Any input welcome...

Still have not had a chance to dive into this repair. No one knows anything about this housing? I need to know what parts to start hunting for. If not, JB Weld will have to do!!!

Yeah, I hit it with a once of J-B Weld. It has it's own housing, which is good for replacement, but looks like you have to remove surge tank to get to it. No thanks, not right now, anyways. I just had that monstrosity off a couple months ago. Not in a rush to remove it again.

Next question. Is it the same housing on a non-sho? It looks very familiar, now that I am looking at the housing.
