My '93 ATX got my attention this AM when the brake pedal went straight to the floor. Certainly needed no coffee after that! It has done it a few more times today, but is not predictable. I've got to figure it is either something very simple or very expensive. anyone got an idea? Does it in forward and reverse and is not speed dependant. Thanks for any help.

try the brake while sitting on the drive way. if it sprays out or leaks you can hopefuuly pinpoint it. Just remember brake fluid is BAD for paint.

Sounds like you suspect a small leak. Why would it happen only sometimes? (always wen moving, never at a stop so far)

SHOCAN,

If there are no leaks, then check out the master cylinder. The symptoms you describe indicate a failing master cylinder. rangerj
