Well, my brakes went out on me the other day. they just went to the floor and pulled slightly to the right. It will barely stop. the anti lock light is on and so is the red brake light. i also have a horrible grinding coming from the rear. Its not leaking anything, pedal to the floor, and barley stops, pulls to the right also. im hoping to look into this weekend but im not very knowledging about brakes. so if anybody has any ideas i would appreciate it 94 mtx

The red brake light will come on if the fluid level is low (like your pedal went to the floor because you had no fluid). Are you sure you don't have a leak?

The ABS light will come on to tell you the ABS system is inactivated. This can happen if a sensor is not reading as expected (like all the sensors are sending speed but one and the brakes are not on). I am wondering if you could have lost a rear wheel bearing or the caliper came loose causing the grinding. Maybe it wiped out the ABS sensor or the sensor ring.

In any case, it shoudl be pretty easy to find once you get a look at it.

Let us know what you find.

Check your brake fluid, if there isnt any put some in, and find where the leak is. You most likely have a leak. The master cyl. is a very slim possibility. Are you sure your caliper es even attatched any more? Good luck.

Unplug the cruise control module and look inside the plug.....if it's full of oil it's blown....which means the pressure sensor on the bottom of the master cylinder is also blown.....unplug it look inside and you will see where the brake fluid is going... :salute:

its the erar metal brake line. it comes out of the proportional valve, (that 4way block) and its the line that lead to the rear passenger wheel, where can i get a new line?
is that the only thing that i have to replace, except for pads and rotors cause they are messed up ne ways

You need to go and buy a certain length of line from an autoparts store.. remove your old line, bring the little ends to make sure you get the right fittings on your new line, and bend the new line in place (doesnt have to be perfect) and screw it in, bleed your brakes, and you should be good to go.
