When I drive the car, I get this whine/hum noise from the rear right brake. When I apply the brakes, the noise goes away. Everything seems to be tight back there. What am I missing?

Thanks!

It could be a caliper sticking, is your tire/rim hot to the touch? It could also be a bearing in the rear, when you brake, you reduce speed, and the noise would be lessened as well. How old are your tires? Older tires can make noise as well at higher speeds, and even tire pressure can make a difference.

I would be surprised if it was a loose brake part.

Tires have about 1000 miles on them. They are not hot to the touch, so no sticking caliper. The bearing noise would get softer when brakes apply until you are going slow enough, but this noise disappears completely when the brakes are applied even with the slightest pressure. I am sure something is loose, just quite havent figured out what yet ...
