I have a 93 ATX I am piecing togeather and have a few problems and I will present the small stuff first. A little backround, the car was in a frontal accident and the air bags were deployed. I have pieced it back togeather and have a few remaining issues.

A few parts were damaged or bent in the steering wheel when the air bag blew. I installed a new on/off button for the cruise control and changed the horn bracket/contacts because they were bent from the bag going off and installed new bags.
The horn works fine with the car NOT running or when parked. If the ignition key is in the ON position horn does'nt work and when the engine is running the horn does'nt work. I installed a spare ignition switch but has the same result. Would it be time for a replacement clockspring? Does the clockspring power the horn?

Next, I have all the exterior lights working as well as all the directionals and brake lights. The 4 way (hazard) flasher works on all exterior lights except for the right front corner. Not sure what is up with that. Could this also be powered by the clockspring? I have a spare muntifunction switch but if anyone has any experience, please share it.

Finally, the brake warning light is always ON now and before the accident. I have gone through the master cylinder and have more than enough brake fluid. I checked the float on the MC cover and it works and even swaped it with a spare and still the same result. The parking brake switch does not appear to be the problem because it appears to work. The brake warning light gets brighter when the brake pedal is in the down position and when the parking brake is released the light gets dimmer but still ON. After reading some diagnostic information there is some mention that there is a reed switch in the MC reseivor that can be causing the warning light to trigger.

Any help or sharing your experience with any above issues will be greatly appreciated.

The hazards and turn signals all use the same flashers and wiring. The difference is the internal circuits in the MFS. It does not use the clockspring.

The horn contacts do go through the clockspring.

Does disconnecting the switch at the MC **** the warning light?

Thanks again Paul. If I remove the connector to the M/C cover that connects to the float the brake warning light goes out.

There is a connector that appears to be a sensor or a pressure switch on the bottom of the M/C. I have no information what this does and have not found any information in any manuals. My 92 Sable Wagon does'nt have this unit on the M/C.

Anyone know about the reed switch in the reseviour does and how to check it?
