I would like to swap my non PP Rotors and Pads for PP Rotors and Pads. Is this possible ? ( it is a better set up right) ? Or are the PP Rotors to big for the non PP ? Or should I just use PP pads on my non PP rotors and be fine with that. I believe the PP pads don’t touch the whole non PP rotor because the shape is a lil different ? Kinda want to stay with OEM , so if the PP stuff is a lil better than the non PP stuff I will be happy.

You can put PP pads on non PP rotors. I have the Powerstop Rotors and I am not a fan of the ceramic performance pads that came with the kit. I am probably going to get another pair of PP pads and throw them on the car.

Ebc Yellow Stuff has no brake fade. Usually pads that good wreck the rotors. They say they are safe on the stock rotors, i havent had them long enough yet to approve but i also have Wilwood rotors. But they do stop the car from highway speed pretty dang good

Ebc rotors and yellow pads.
My non PP had the same exact rotors and all other hardware as a PP. The only difference was the stock pads were a different part #. I think Ford didn't care about PP as much in the later years and used almost all of the same parts.

I have tried several different pads, best over all for DD use and heavy street use has the the PP pads. They are good pads. Made by Performance friction, they also last. My yellow stuff lasted 13,000 miles.

Performance package has a bunch of brake subtle differences. Better pads, Cooling and slightly modified brake booster. The pads are the biggest difference. I believe they are carbon fiber semi metallic.

SM105K,
You have been very helpful in the past and wanted to see if you know how I can find the correct FORD part numbers for the stock front brake PP pads and rear pads for my 2015 PP. The guy at my local Ford dealership said he could not divulge that information. It's time for a brake job. Thanks

That dude is an idiot... From what I know all 13+ Taurus' used the same rear pads PP included. The PP pads you are looking for are here.

I have seen this at some dealer parts places. Don't want you to shop it around. More likely to do it for discontinued parts where there is no sale to lose.

My Power Stop slotted and drilled rotors arrived today and my PP pads will be here tomorrow. I plan on installing them next week. I'd like to ask you if is there a procedure for breaking the pads and rotors in that you used?
"imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". Thanks

With my PP pads...I went out and drove a couple of miles normal. Did some harder braking back to back at around 60 mph to 20 mph and then drove to cool them off. That is it.

This is exactly what I did. Worked(s) like a charm.
