I have a 2012 Ford Taurus SHO. Did a brake rotor and pad replacement today. My right front side was making a loud noise at the stopping point. Not a squeal or grind but just a loud noise at right front caliper as well. Pull wheel and noticed one of the 2 pistons was not coming out. No problem I replaced with new caliper and took it for a spin again. Brakes fine up until the end of stopping point. Makes a loud clunk, but only at stop point. Any idea what is causing that noise? Does not happen on driver side. Help is appreciated!

Have you checked suspension and steering components such as strut mounts, control arms, and sway bar links? If you are sure the brakes are installed correctly, that's where your answer should like. Tie rods and sway bar links are most likely. Sometimes a strut mount isn't torqued down properly.

Mods, please move to correct section, TIA!

Check the caliper bolts, that washer with the flat side is easy to screw up (no pun intended). I know, because I did!
