On my way home from work I experinced some temporary braqke fade. Every so often the brake pedal would go all they down and not stop. I had redone my rear brakes a couple months ago and bled them as good as I could. It seems to go away not to long afterwards.

Could it just be that there is a bubble in the system and it needs to be bled? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Either you have a large amount of air in the system or you have a problem with the MC/brake booster. You could try bleeding it again, and see how much air comes out. I don't remember if you have a Helms or not, but if so I would go through the procedure for checking the operation of the MC.

We had a similar issue with our '98 SE. The pedal would get very soft and at a stop you could pump it with relative ease. The MC had developed an internal leak and was not holding a high pressure of fluid.

Maybe Auto-xing you put too much pressure on an old seal and now it is leaking.

Well, if you went several months since the last time your brakes were touched, I would say it is a leak in the MC area. But, that is MHO. Well, it will be easier to swap out when you pull the motor.

It is that auto-xing Matt.....

Is there any pulsation to indicate an ABS malfunction?

If not, I agree... Sounds like a bad MC.

yeah Matt, this is actually somethign i know... and i know i dont know much ;)

but, if it goes down completely w/o any force and it doesnt have a spongy feeling its your piston seal inside the master Cylinder, its letting your fluid go to the other resivior and not creating psi because its letting the brake fluid out.

I got the master Cylinder so I will be taking care of it tommorrow.

It just goes down no problem with no ABS like sympotoms.

It doesnt seem to bad, at least it isnt the brake booster.

Thanks for the help.

Off topic,,

Cheboygan MI ? I didn't know we had any SHOs up there!!!! Years ago my Grandfather had a cabin on Black Lake, so I'm quite familiar with the area. I'll probably be at the St Ignace show, hopefully in my "rare" green 95.

on topic,,get those brakes fixed before you **** yourself!!!!
