I don't remmber this happening before, but it must have; I bleed the brakes and even if I open both front and rear bleeders the pedal only goes halfway to the floor. I can stand on it with both feet and it won't budge any further. I disconnected the master cylinder or more accurately the booster rod and the pedal travels to the floor un-impeaded. So the question is why would the brake pedal not go to the floor with the rod attached? Is the booster travel limited or is there something in the master cylinder?
The brakes work, but if I hit them in a panic situation or just hard they will not haul the car down even though the pedal feels ROCK SOLID, but that is because that is as far as it will travel even with the bleeders open. I really hate to have to resort to taking the master cylinder off but it sure seems lie I am headed that way unless somebody has gone down this road before.

I have the same problem with my SHO. No matter how hard I STAND on the brake pedal, I can not get the ABS to engage. I was told that the factory brakes should get the ABS to engage, but I will need to do a search to find out what they advised me to do. I know I have to pull the thingy from the pressure regulator that is located on the firewall and pull the "pie tins" from brakes to allow more cooling.

To really see if there is a problem with your brakes, pull one front wheel and push the piston in all the way (or as far as you can with the caliper still bolted in place). Start her up and push on the brake. The pedal should go to the floor rather easily, without much pressure, a few times depending on how far you got the piston pushed in. I am thinking MC if it doesn't.

Cheers!

to see if the abs works slam on them in the rain and they will lock or the abs will engage, or in some dirt. Sometimes you cant feel the abs engage, at least thats been my experence. Iv driven cars where i think its not working then i hear a few chirps and a lock and then unlock. For example, my sho the abs is there slightly but on my explorer the pedle moves up and down about an inch or 2 just in my experence at least:thumb:

Did you try it with the engine running?
