Dammit, that reads like a hater post...

I'm just concerned is all. AWD + powerful motor = shredded trans.

Some light reading fun? Look into how many trans the Suzuki escudo devoured, per racing season.

Most likely massive parts failures from bearings to axles to trans to ptu to unknown engine failures due to exceeding limits not pushed previously but this is the goal I think...
One record setting run and then a trailer queen unless shit breaks... Then probably deja vu.

Upgraded trans.

Hardened PTU.

Almost everything has been addressed.

Short of the half shafts and the driveshaft.

Time will tell where the weak link is.

I'm in it to win it.

Thanks for the input. Even if it's not positive and/or supportive in nature.

Appreciate it.

Can't wait to see what it does when finished. When you go to the track for the first time, are you going to remove the aftermarket stereo weight or leave it in?

Let me rephrase my previous support: I support you the same way as Cleetus McFarland, but not the same way as whistlindiesel. If that makes no sense, go binge some YouTube.

TLDR, both people break stuff a lot and spend crazy money, but only one is trying to go faster. It's deeper but that's not fir this thread. Keep making yourself happy, that's what matters.

Funny you mention that.....

Although I have ZERO plans of going full tilt WR like others have.....

My engine builder did stipulate that I at the VERY LEAST remove the stereo shit alone so that it at least makes a run at factory weight.

I graciously acknowledged his request and replied to him "understood sir".

Give your engine builder a high five from me next time you see him. Two high fives if he can talk you into removing the passenger seat for a pass....you know, so a friend at the track has a comfy seat to sit in.

Ha! Will do good sir.

A nice pic of his back wall, and my engine sitting comfortably (albeit shrouded in plastic wrap) in the lower right corner......3bf68488c0705daea4402ee8dc56bfed

I would be willing to bet you will exceed capacity for the GH IC with those lovely turbos. Are you upgrading your IC too? From what you’ve mentioned before as a tiny tid bit of info about tuning. Yours will be part of a handful of cars sent to a really really good tuner. Dyno tuned presumably. What will be any, if at all, future tune revisions needed...does he do remote tuning as well? I’m curious bc I really think there is a huge advantage to remote tuning over a single dyno tune, unless future dyno tuning is available. I think just about all of us have had so many tune revisions ...we lost count. So my mind starts being concerned about the notion of a one and done dyno tune session. Thoughts?

Although none of us know much about the process and route you’re going so maybe all of this is addressed already? I’m willing to bet this monster you created will need ready and available access to minor tweaks in tuning. Although that is my best guess.

Almost all good tuners don’t just do a dyno tune, that’s just to get the base tuning done. A lot of tuners will then get some track and/or street data to make final adjustments..

I have no clue about what Mike is doing for tuning or even platform for tuning.. but I would think by the time the tuning is done. It should be 100%.

It’s not like us guys slapping in a few parts and getting remote tunes...

Right but I’m wondering about ease of access to tweaks. Idk the process he’s doing but the thought of the car physically being somewhere else other than at his home...the travel to and from...who’s driving it, who’s doing the street or track testing ...just makes me think taking it somewhere special will also take considerably longer to get it squared away...but that’s an assumption based on nothing concrete lol!

I’m curious about dialing in a brand new motor/setup. I know there’s a break in process ...but then you see guys spending all night rebuilding an engine and sending it first thing the next day down the track...which makes a break in seem even more mysterious. It’s super important...but then again is it? But maybe the guys building a motor at the track aren’t using a brand new motor? Idk.

All I can say, that the person that will be tuning the car is experienced in tuning high horsepower cars that are street driven. Can't say more than that.

I think break is for longevity of the motor, where at the track all they really care about is getting down the track one time and then tearing it back apart and doing it again. I'm no motor expert tho, just a guess.

How are you supposed to rock out while cruising down the quarter if you pull out the stereo stuff? The engine builder must understand there is at least a 10 HP gain from cranking eye of the tiger, right? Although, I guess you could just edit in the songs for the montage afterwards, but where is the fun in that?
