borla ???

i have a borla exhaust on a 89 sho.. I have a 93 manual and is this ready to install?? is anything different?? I also have a shop shop y-pipe.. it looks much different than my midwest performance y pipe.. Just wondering if it will interfere with my rod shifter.. any ideas?

If you are moving an exhaust from a cable shifter setup to a rod shifter setup, you will need a different piece of pipe to fit around the rod shifter. Rockauto.com has just that one piece of pipe, or there is actually one on eBay right now. The different y-pipe could cause fitment problems. Can you swap the y-pipes so you keep the same one with your Borla? Other than that, they SHOULD be able to just swap over. I tried to do that once and a local muffler shop totally butchered my Borla transfering from one car to another. If I had had the tools, I think I could have made it fit a whole lot better.

i think they also have an atx system without the bend... **** that coulda been the original setup... why would they have made a big bend in it if they didn't have to before rod shifters......... costs more money....

look under your car and see if its bent there.......... if its just straight off the y pipe to the resonator.... well its not going to fit..
