That's from the Al Pacino movie "Scent of a Woman" where he's a blind ex-general, defends Chris O'Donnell in a school case, and he drives a Ferarri while he's blind hahaha! Everytime something goes right for him he says "BOO-YA!"

It's a really good movie, you should check it out.

You sure it was "booya"? I think it was HOO OWL.

William

Anybody remember the "Last boy scout" there is a scene where a guy pops Bruce Willis in the face when he is not expecting it and he says "Booya baby!"

I think the phrase "booyah" originated when Cypress Hill released their first Cd back in 1993 or so. It came out when I was in high school, and the phrase gained popularity from there.

68 style.. hate to dispute you, but its not "BOO-YA!" that Al Pacino says. In the movie, Pacino is a former member of the armed forces, and as such says: "OOH-AH", or some slight derivation of it depending on his branch of service. i know this because i have buddies in the navy and army. each service has their own form of that frase.. such as ooh-ah, ooh-ya, u-ha and so on. just givin you the 411. peace.

Actually, it really is hoorah, just with a funny Al Pacino spin. Booyah is from Chris Berhman on Sportscenter.
