wanted to see ppls setups that have there sho bosted.what can you do about fuel a fmu?or would a standalone engine managment system be best with upgrade injectors?such as megasquirt?thinking about boosting my sho.im not trying to run gobs amount of boost prolly just get a t3/t4 57trim something that will spool fast and can run like 8psi out of it or 10.

Bigger injectors (36lb or bigger), adjustable fuel pressure regulator (SHOnut), high flow fuel pump (255lph), bigger MAF (80mm or 90mm Lightning), and tuning to compensate for the larger injectors/MAF (TwEECer).

Before you boost make sure your fuel system will support the fuel needed for boost (upgrade injectors and fuel pump) and that you maintain a relative fuel pressure of 39 psi (adj. FPR). Although the stock FPR acts as a rising rate FPR it quickly becomes a restriction and will need to be upgraded. If you plan on more than 430whp or so then you'll also want a bigger fuel feed line.

Hope this helps... I have no opinion or experience with the megasquirt to comment on it.

well mine that we just started on yesterday, is a GT42 turbo off a deisel, and 50lb injectors, 255lph fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, intercooler,80mm mass air meter,twEECer, (plus) stage II cams, Ported and polished heads, EH intake and a stage 4 racing clutch..and 3" exhaust
no pics yet!!!!
that one is mine, ashley

my fiance, paul, also has GT42 turbo, intercooler from a deisel as well, 42lb injectors 190 lph fuel pump stage 2 racing clutch plus 3" exhasut. we took out the Fidanza flywheel because it made 1st gear spool up too fast.

here are some of the first pics
Engine7
Engine6

Also, we did experiment qwith a thunderbird Supercoupe supercharger on mine first, with an FMU and 30 lb injectors. but the jackshaft broke. :)
no pics though

here is also a pic of our friend justins that we boosted for a while. just a quick shot of it though. I think it was a holset turbo and 38 lb injectors.

i love your and paul's low budget turbo setups... 404 HP and no tranny mods... finding turbos in the yard... trading people parts to get stuff you need to run a turbo... what did that run you guys agai? something like $200 and a few parts to trade for other things...lol amazing

seriously you guys have some great stories... and i think right up there with texantony and toolman as far as turbo innovators go!

also you can search my name for turbo. my setup was low cost and is high powered, if you do it right. there is a ton of info on all kinds of turbo and supercharger setups for these cars now. everybody has paved different roads when it comes to a boost, you mainly have to decide which route you will take. there are a lot of ways to go, whether it is supercharger or turbo.

fmu=whats keeping my sho alive.... i sware by them... tho they do scare me sometimes... iv heard storeys of the diaphram bursting.... but iv had mine since uhhh 1999 or so and it still works perfectly..... again... stock pump... stock injectors.... fmu and a turbo... thats alll i got and it works flawlessly... but thats just my opinion i guess... to each there own... but i know what works for me and an fmu works great for me..... how to you think turbo dodge guys do there ****? they all use fmu's and no one ever has a problem with them and the yhave been doing that since the 80's so why knock an fmu?

just my 2 cents don twant to start anything or highjack this thread but just trying to get some facts out there.

I don't recall if you have seen my vid with the supercharged (roots blower)sho
here is the link.
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/taurus+sho/0/082ac78b-c303-4688-9963-984800aab31d.htm

watch that and you will see what a FMU does. dumps fuesl like a SOB. not saying it doesn't work . but with the necessary fuel mods (injectors ,pump, some tuning device SAFC or other) you should not rely on the FMU. but yes it does work for some setups. what the vid and watch when i punch it in the beginning a tthe light. that is from the FMU and 30 lb injectors. no other fuel mods at the time.

I don't think Tony has anything to do with turbos unless you mean beating them with a supercharger....
