I have noticed on my 2010 SHO that Ford missed out on a great opportunity to put a factory boost gauge that looks like the ones found on Diesel Super Duties right below the tachometer. The room is there and it would look great. I've pondered the complexity of doing something like this myself. Any thoughts?

Well it would make for interesting project for sure. I believe anything is possible, with the right determination. But will be pricey project, as you would want sacrificial instrument panel.

I thought about relocating my trunk pop to inside the panel where the traction control switch is - then install a nice thin boost gauge in that spot. Of course it would need to be trimmed out larger.

Or

Install that small rectangular boost gauge inside that panel where the traction control switch is.

I'm using the Aeroforce gauges in custom steering column pods. Looking for better solution though, not sure I like the location.

forced Chris's pod is worth every penny. Have taken my SHO to 4 car shows & judges love the way it looks like it was a factory option. Here's mine with Prosport digital gauges.

Sorry twin turbo, but I currently sold out and no intentions of building anymore at this time. But as for price the pod its self started at $215. Gauges for all start at $250 for all 3 to $250 each.

Looks like this was a necro-thread from 2013.

3 years later, is anyone else running any aftermarket gauges? I was trying to figure out how to fit something in mine, would love to see some more pics for ideas!

I just use one Aeroforce gauge. It will show many different things but I primarily monitor boost and coolant temp. When I am at the track, I keep an eye on knock retard and transmission temp, as well.

Here is my setup. I have the speaker grille mount. I went with AeroForce, cause I hate running wires. These plug right into the OBDII data port. Its from my '12, I just swapped everything to the '13

Is this the standard dual pod, or the SHO specific pod they offer? http://www.aeroforcetech.com/products_gauge_pods.html

Also, I'm guessing you had to mount through the speaker grill/cover & fish the OBD cable down to the port? Does the speaker cover just pop off, or are there fasteners hidden under the center console surround?

Thanks!!

Its there SHO specific pod. Yeah the speaker cover just pops off. Had to drill hole thru speaker cover and under for the cable. The '13 I remove the cover around the instrument cluster to help fish the wires from the data port to the gauges. It wasn't that a bad of a job to do.

Here's a peek at my set up......

Custom 3 bank gauge pod from fellow member crash712us, custom hand made and wrapped 2 bank A-Pillar gauge pod, and then the 3 extra gauges on the MyCal device.

Center stack has EGT/Pyrometer's on the outside for both bank's 1 and 2, center gauge is Tranny temp gauge.....

A-Pillar has the Oil temp gauge, and then the Boost gauge......

MyCal device is monitoring Battery level, Intake air temps, and then Engine Coolant Temps......
