Bolwn Hood Lift

When I opened my hood on a cold morning I heard an **** and saw oil or some **** sprayed over the firewall. The lift sprung a leak. Can they be repaired, doea a straight Taurus unit fit it and where do you find one?

Most people just find a suitable "prop rod"

The hood struts simply do not last.

prop rods can be anything too...

from an actual prop rod, to a 20 oz. soda bottle...... :laugh_ti:

i dont think you can rebuild them.... and i know they are pricey at auto stores... and finding one in the JY that still works, well... thats another challenge....
i would say ditch the struts, and get a prop rod....
