is it better to tape the letters off and use a spray paint way to get the filled in, then clear coat, or to use a brush? my friends dad owns a bodyshop and says that if i tape it off and spray it that it wont chip off. the last attempt with body paint and a brush chipped off so i took the rest off. will the sray work better?

when you do any type of paint application the prep is critical for it to look good. You have to make sure to wash the area thoroughly to get rid of any grim/wax/oil/ etc. If you keep a steady hand you shouldn't need to tape it off, just make sure to apply evenly with the pen. The people I know of havn't clearcoated the lettering and it looks like it was on thier car from the factory.

You can get decals for it... Makes it easier to reverse if you don't like it.

Hey I don't mean to hijack your post Sho_Freak...but I figured this was the best place to ask, instead of posting a whole new topic. I just figured I would ask to see if anyone had suggestion on what color of fill would look good on my green SHO. I'm thinking black...any ideas?

Anyone have pics of a green Gen II with silevr fill-ins? Do you just fill in the grooves, and not the solid part over them? I want to do mine, but would be doing the back bumper, as well, most likely. Not trying to jump in on your post, but it looks like you're done with it! lol

Those are the silver decals from Bob White. I like the look of the decals better than paint.

John,
That thing looks BADA$$! I hope mine looks close to that nice when I get it on the road! Does anyone know a good way to drill the holes for a spoiler in a 92? IE, take a template of the trunk the spoiler came off of?!

What exactly do the decals look like before you put them on? One of my buddies got them from somewhere, and they were like individual pieces for each line in the logo.
I think Bob White is a little over priced, I can go to a local sign shop and pick up about a 2' x 2' sqaure of reflective blue vinyl for $20.

on a (rare) green SHO i think either a black (to look subdued for the blackout look) or a yellow (yes gentleman it's an SHO) would look good. my engine bay is slowly becoming a bright yellow (with black accents) and it looks pretty good with the green so far. but to each his own...
