i have talked to this company and they are willing to prototype a body kit for the gen 1 and 2 sho. my car will be appering in the sho magazine. it will take 1 month to make it then 2 months to gat the molds and make the parts. i know some of you ideas and imputs on the kit. i dont want this to turn out as some rice body kit. The company said that i have to go to 12 shows and appear in a mag. i would like some photoshop ideas or body kits you like. I also am loking for a sponser as far as the audio deparment goes. i have a guy to do the work and make all of the trunk enclousers and all of the labor but i need product. If any one is willing to lend out a hand i will put there companie name on the car when it goes to the shoot and the shows. My car is heavely modded and if anyone is intresten or need more details they can post a message on here or email me at [email protected]

i belive that the body parts for the gen 1 and 2 are the same.
some parts are interchangable (mainly interior), but many are not.... for the front, there would have to be a lot of modification to get a front clip to work.... just a completely different set-up. not 100% sure on the rear, but i think the panels line up differently on those as well.

The side paneling would work, but gen 1 and 2 are held on diffrent. The back bumper might work for both, and the front defineatly won't.

If the GEn 2 guys would have to put a GEN 1 nose on it, in order to make it fit, I'm pretty sure the interest level is going down... IF it were for the Gen 2, I'd definitely be in. Personally, I would think more GEn 1 guys would want to switch to a GEN2 nose than the other way around.

No one is going to want to switch noses. Just saying that you switch hoods, header panel, headlights, bumper cover, and fenders is an understatement, it takes some time. Plus the crease in the fenders don't match up, so it looks awkward.

Most definitely. I would definitely be in for a GEN 2 body kit, I hope that it goes through sometime in the near future. There would be a LOT less interest if it were a GEN 1 kit, IMHO.

um, NO! the gen1 nose is much beefier, and looks TONS better than the gen2 nose. ;)

but then again, each nose fits the rest of the car, so the gen1 nose would look goofy on the gen2, and the gen2 nose would look funny on the gen1

In sales terms, I believe that you'd sell a **** of a lot more for Gen 2's because of the fact that not only are there more Gen2's out there, but it would fit regular Taurii of those years as well, and a **** of a lot of people would probably buy them for regular Taurii.

Uhm... why are people even CONSIDERING "switching noses"? Its the things about the gen 1 that makes it a gen 1 that must remain on a gen 1. Ditto for a gen 2. I'm sure no one out there bought a gen 1 or 2 with the intentions of trading "noses".

Why would you argue about which gen gets a body kit? Huh? Why don't you just make both kits and remain unbiased to the market. Not that you'd sell a lot of either kits, IMO. I'd say a few handful will actually invest in a body kit with each gen.

Hey man, relax! I think the problem is at this point they are only willing to prototype one type of body kit, hence his post saying "petree777 ok then well i guess they will be making it for the gen 1 then". Out of sales numbers, he would sell more Gen 2 body kits then Gen I, thats just a fact.. I personally hope they make both body kits, I dont know of anyone who is considering switching noses, but it seemed like that was the only option for the GEn 2 guys, if they make a gen 1 nose. I wont be changing my nose, I'l wait until someday they make a GEN 2, or just keep the nose i have.. Have a Beer and chill out, we all want body kits! :)

Nope won't work Sab'e guys could use it. Now if a kit was made for Gen 1's Sable and Taurus guys could use it, so I bet that might sell better over at TCCA too. :thumb:
