Sounds like an interesting idea. Can't wait to see the finished product. :salute:

I believe someone thought about this, but cost for tooling of the prop shaft was astronomical. Something like that (I'm no boat expert)

Boats really need a strong torque curve all the way through the rpm range, especially if you want to do something like pull a skier.

Near 10 years ago, I went over to the Jomar shop in Pontiac, MI (the folks who make the stud girdles). They were also making SHO AL subframe bushings, and I went down to pick up a set.

Guy was showing me the new girdles they were making, primarily for BB Chevies in boats. The boat guys were going to ultra-lift cams (.800 or so) to beef up their midrange torque, and needed new girdles that would clear the rockers at those lifts.

the boat is a glastron speed boat 1999 18.5 ft and the sho engine is probably lighter then the vortec 4.3 iron block !!!

I'll bet it's not, but that's not the issue. That 4.3 most likeloy has a MUCH nicer torque curve up to 4500 rpm or so.

You do realize that the 4.3 V6 is a 350 Chevy V8 with 2 cylinders lopped off?

IMO, doing a SB Chevy swap is the easiest, cheapest, and most power-effective solution.

Boat people aren't impressed by a "different" engine. If you can't kick their ass, they don't care WHAT you are running!
