My 95 has had a blend door problem for a while, I noticed it way back in Jan/Feb. It was a loud clicking while it was on or off, lotsa heat though. Anyways around may it started blowing cool air and then in June I found out about the fuse and pulled it, WooHoo...no more clicking. Now it's getting cold again and it still blows only cool air. Everyone says that a stuck door goes to full hot, I can't afford a new one. I don't care right now if it's stuck. I just want the heat. is there any way of manually moving it. Theres gotta be something to get some heat. Thanks for any input.

Jeff.

No, everyone does NOT say that. There are at least two different failure modes that I have run across, yours is the second failure mode - mechanical gear failure, not sensor failure.

The door is not stuck anyway, the actuator has failed.

In your case, one of the gears inside the BDA has teeth broken off. The only way to fix it is to remove the BDA and replace it with a new module. In order to manually change the position of the blend door, you would still have to remove the BDA module and that would involve removing the dash.

It's times like these that make me glad my 89 has a manual control!
