Is there a secret for bleeding an empty system? I can't seem to get any fluid out of the lines after refilling it and performing what I consider to be normal brake bleeding. I'm suspecting the ABS system but don't have any experience with an empty system. The lines were empty due to a complete engine/suspension swap.

Empty lines - not fun.

The problem may lie in the ABS system but I think these symptoms are an improperly bled master cylinder. If not bled, they sometimes have a nasty habit of pumping air into the system even when they're full of fluid.

My suggestion would be to do an extended period gravity bleed. Fill the MC with fluid and let gravity take care of it with each of the bleeders cracked.

My Phoenix injector comes in handy for situations like these.

If that doesn't work and you can't bleed them normally, you may have to find someone with a power bleeder.
