Is that rust on that heat shield?
Clean motor too.

Please correct my ignorance if i'm wrong. Those welds don't look too incredibly difficult. Why are people always driving hundreds of miles to have someone weld it? Looks to me like anyone with a year or two under their belt could pull it off.
Yea, we usually get over 150 inchs of snow a year up here and the calcium chloride they put on the roads here is next of kin to battery acid. Brake lines here have a shelf life of 6-7 years. We see 2000s, 2001s and **** even 2003s that need them in the shop at work.
I never thought someone would go through the the trouble of welding them and half ass it and never do the rear as well.
I plan on pulling the rear cover off soon and do the rear plugs as well as soon I have some extra time.
The guy he bought the car off of was very honest. His son is the general manager of Jaguar of Exeter in New Hampshire where the car was traded for a new Jag. He was the most honest and nicest guy ive ever bought a car off. Plus usually when I look at a Gen III and ask about welding people are like "what the hells that"? This guy brought it up without me asking and said the previous owner had NESHO do it. They also had the transmission rebuilt as well. So judging by how honest the seller was, how good the car runs, the front cams being welded, that marvelously clean head and the guy being rich enough to drive a new Jag im sure he didnt half ass it and did it right.
oh i feel you on this i didnt know the whole deal about this car.. but if nesho welded it were would be the paperwork.. if you are sayin its welded why wouldnt you keep it...
also some people only weld the front to get rid of the car saying they are welded most people will pull the fronts and say its all good.... when the rears were never done...
now with the rest of the story i got on this car i bet the rears are welded...
He said his son did have the paperwork but in all honesty we were traveling down at night afterwork in kind of a spur of the moment thing and I didnt feel like jumping through all the extra hoops to find all the paperwork to the car. Pretty much what I got from seeing the welded cams was that the guy was telling the truth and not just blowing smoke up my butt. But after dealing with this guy I honestly had no doubt that they were indeed done. The PO didnt keep the car because obviously he had enough money for a new JAG lol. and the guy I bought it off didnt because his son got a sweet ass Benz in on trade and he was driving that now. Plus we got the car for $1500 so it was a steal even if they werent done. Its just gravy that they are.
