Hey man, I see you are running Alpine Type R's. Those are a Quality speaker as they are made by Alpine. The Dual's are a Joke if you ask me. I've owned Pioneer, Kenwood, JBL, and Now Eclipse. Eclipse by far was the clearest and hardest hitting sub(s) i've had. I'm only running aout 1200 watts to the 2 12" eclipse aluminum subs but my friend has a 15" Eclipse Titanium Pro, rated at about 3300 watts. He has 1 JBL Crown Amp rated at over 3500 watts running it. Its in a 95' grand prix, and it booms to say the least, he hit 151.8 DB with it. He is also running Earthquake components in kick panels with a Eclipse CD8454 deck.

A guy seriously could stick soo much money into audio but ya have to stop somewhere. It all depends on what you've heard and like and what you consider "loud". ya know, my parents think a stock SHO stereo "POUNDS"... Yes it does sound good and there is a little thump there but it all depends on what your used to. i'll have to get some pics of some local systems and see what i can find man.

I find JL audio subs, and Fosgate amps to be the loudest punch for the price.
In my Riviera I had a 400w Fosgate 2 channel pushing 1 12" W3 in a ported box. If you sat in the car you would be SHOCKED to know there was only 1 sub back there. Along with factory DELCO highs. It was almost the loudest around.
150$ for speaker and box. 200$ for the amp.( And you have to bridge it of course)Cant go wrong if you like loud music, and you dont want to go crazy with it.

Then again- You could buy a JL audio W7. Its a pricey speaker, but beleive me it pounds. My good friend that you will meet in walpole in the next couple weeks had 1 W7 in the back of his girlfriends grand am, and rocked- I do mean rocked the soundoff, and came home with 1st place trophy easily. It was so loud that you actually had trouble breathing sitting in it.

dont waste your money on a w7 crap i used 2 orion h2 15 dual 2 ohm and a orion 275g4 amp mono .5 ohm and could hit a 143db at 38 hertz in a sealed box 4 cube lol all for less than 1000 bucks. let me tell you 38 hertz rear facing is pain..... it would rumple the doors it was so slow . would probably hit 150 at 45 to 50 hertz i just like low bass.

W7 is by no means "crap" Theyre not Cerwin Vega strokers, but they are very decent speakers. Thanks for pounding down my advice. :thumb:
You were just talking about "2" speakers. 143 decibles is easily attainable with 1 W7. Ive seen it in person , and those decible meters are not accurate cuz the dimensions of every car is different. :salute:

not crap period crap for amount of money to buy them . besides my h2 has more x max than what is advertised i mean 5 maybe 6 inches total without clipping .plus the dual gap magnets that a jl doesnt have and a special plastic window around th magnet that cools it more the harder you play it .the only woofer i could not break. a 143 with a w7 vented in a good enclosure in a hatch easy not in a rear facing full insulation closed off trunk in a sealed incosure

I do agree they are too expensive, but as time goes on they get cheaper.
My friend had some orions too. IDK if they were the same model as yours, but they hit pretty hard.

sorry but your 6 10 inch jls might equal 2 of my 15s in displacement even better if they are w0 or w1 w3 maybe equal one of my 15s. and keep in mind my amp is rated a 2x75 at 4 ohms but at .5ohm mono is 1600+ and i am sealed if i went vented i could do better but i like sound quality.

not trashing just more subs is not always better just trying to point that out . useable xmax is the only factor in spl plus how fast you can use it.

Who has the loudest?

I probably hold that record with
1 Cerwin Vega Stroker 15D2 and 2 soundstream 10.0's. Never metered but i was metered with 1 10.0 and i hit 151ish. I took the Same setup to Isaca nationals in 97 in a Beretta GTU and it it 156ish

I now have a RE audio RE 12 running off a Elemental Designs nine.1.

Best I've heard was 2 12" orion H2's and four 1200 watt orion amps. They are actually better than jl w7's. anyone who has heard both would agree

Runnin' 2 12" PPI's with a 2500watt amp. Will be addin' another 2500watt amp soon here. Should be good. Now it's time to upgrade the rest of the system and tune it. I have to run the headunit at -6 for the sub control and it's still poundin' with the gain turned totally off on the amp. Ya it'll need some tuning. I've hit over 154db with the subs on a diff setup. I'm now runnin' them at 1Ohm mono. 5 farad cap is on the way.

My compitition system was 2 Earthquake 15's(forget which model) With 2 Earthquake D2 Amps. I hit around 147. It was pretty loud for the money I had invested. Now I have 3 DEI Studio 10's with 2 DEI 600D's. I like them. The 10 inch subs sound better with heavy metal and rock. I dont listen to alot of rap anymore.
