This may be a silly one but I have had this happen to others... Is your DIS grounded? my friend didnt have a decent ground and he had the same problems... We ended up running a wire from the firewall to a bolt on the DIS module...
Good luck

The DIS is the little box with two plug in's on the crossover tube on your intake. Its to the far passenger side of the engine. Make sure the strap that goes from the firewall to the back of the intake on the passenger side is hooked up good, and the two bolts that hold the crossover tube to the intake are in and tight.

Chilton's had the 4 and 5 plug connections switched, but not the 1 and 3. Check those plug wires again.
