So Sun State Ford in Orlando did a GREAT job. Car drove home wonderfully. No noise, no leaks, power when I needed it, smooth operation, no vibration. They even detailed it and got the gear oil smell out of my interior. They had one of the biggest shops I've ever seen at a dealer.

All in all that doesn't seem too bad. Making me think I may order a PTU just to have on hand. If I'm reading the invoice right, did they replace the tranny too or just the case and swapped parts? Just wondering because everyone says these trannies are more expensive than the PTU.

Just replaced the case. Internals were all good.

I haven't had a chance to reply yet, but Missing Tuner Issue has been resolved. I received an email from the tech that worked on my car. He removed the tuner because he didn't want anyone to question the "Warranty" issue, especially since he knew that tuned or not, it won't blow up the PTU. He is shipping it back to me today. Very cool on the techs part. He has a tuned F150 and knows the drill. My faith in humanity is restored, at least on the gear-head end

Very nice of him, and astute. Sounds like a stand up guy from a dealership that actually gives a crap. Luck was with you on this one. . .. Glad it's resolved all the way around.

so happy to hear that your car was taken care of, I had my PTU replaced at a different dealer here in Orlando recently, and it is now leaking again. I will be sure to do all my services at sun state ford from now on, got my battery from them last time, and the service was excellent. Thanks for all the great info!
