I'm not sure. The Lincoln dealer here filed a complaint, but said it needs to be crossed over to Ford.

And the tragedy continues. PTU arrived today and when they dropped the subframe they found the transmission housing cracked. So they will be replacing the trans and ptu, under warranty. Spent two days on the road in a rental explorer and got home today. They will call me tomorrow when the trans arrives so I can plan my drive back to get my car to drive it home. The dealer did however contact Enterprise and give them a purchase order for the rental starting on day 1 and continuing until my car is done. Now I have to wait on enterprise to refund the money I put out already.

The dealer in Florida (Sun State Ford) is definitely taking care of me. They have been great considering the frantic phone call of a family on vacation 1500 miles from home. I will still be contacting Ford Customer care about the crappy Roadside Assistance. Basically leaving us stranded for 26 hours, dispatched 6 different towing companies before ever getting my car to Sun State to be looked at, a day later than the dealer was expecting it. The service rep at Lincoln told me the Lincoln Roadside assistance only goes through AAA, Ford needs to learn from this considering the towing companies they sent seemed as shady as a big old tree.

It just really blows that I have to drive back to Florida to get my car, needless to say I'm a scared to drive it home right now.

I' surprised they are getting a trans assembly amnd not a case half. Kudos for them if they can pull that off. I know there are some special clauses for traveling customers.

Wellp. Ok. Bummer. Better than putting it together and crossing your fingers.

Disappinted they didn't catch it, but where it broke.... It's a crap shoot depending where it' damaged.

With it covered under powertrain they have to keep it usually untill they get an ok to scrap from ford.

I think? I' not sure if some parts covered under warranty are just throw.

If it makes you feel better, my put has Ben venting oil for 4000 miles. I was kinda hoping for it to blow on my vacation so I had a really good excuse for extra time off...

I guess I expected more from a 40k car. Only 40,ooo miles on her, bur alas I know I'm not the only one that has had a PTU go bad, I feel for the rest of you.

Over 60K on mine. I will admit, I don' think mine was failing. The PTU was removed/reinstalled and I asked to change the **** when they did that.. I think it was overfilled and venting.

Just got a call, transmission case and new seals arrived. Trans has been reassembled and is being put in the car. PTU goes on tomorrow. They verified axle splines all look good. Tomorrow when they test drive I asked them to make sure they are checking for the hesitation issue I had and to check the injectors. Since I am driving back 1300 miles they assured me the car will get a real good check-up, and a wash I leave tomorrow morning to drive the rental back, that will give them all day tomorrow and part of Thursday to go over her.

I think I lost my position in this thread. So the trans case popped too? Or did they take it apart to verify no damage was done.

Might get the SHO back at truly full strength!!!
