Today, I picked the SHO up after being out of commission for a few months. Everything seemed fine until every system started shutting down one by one until the car died. The car would beep like **** when I'd turn the ignition on and the Electronic climate control was going crazy but no crank whatsoever except the sound of the starter solenoid. My friend came to jump my car and it roared to life in the of 10 seconds after the jumpers were connected. On the way home it started doing it again but I made it home without it dying. My fuel pump has been acting up too to the point where sometimes I have to pop the hood and mess with the power cables to get it started. The car has a day old battery and a new alternator.Sorry for the long post and any help is appreicated.

By ECC, I meant the Electric Climate Control, the blower kept on clicking on and off. I'll check my battery cables today and see if there any problems. Thanks for the help :)

I'd check the ground battery cable. Not where it connects to the battery, but the other end of it where it receives its ground. If it looks fine, unbolt it, and use a file or something to scratch up the metal which it makes contact with. Just to make sure the ground is ok.

Brian,

Your symptoms sound like bad battery and ground cables and connections. Look for corrosion and bubbling in the ground cable near its mounting point at the starter. This area of the cable receives more than its fair shar of MODOT's salt.

Clean, inspect, test, and replace cables as needed. Be certain that the new battery is fully charged. They usually are not when purchased.
