Is there a way to test a crank position sensor while it is off? I have a CPS in a box and I don't know if it's any good. I might need it in the next week.

I kinda figured that. Just didn't know if there was a resistance test or something similar.

You can rapidly pass a metallic object in front of it, such as a screwdriver, while it is powered with 5VDC. This will generate a pulse that a meter set on AC millivolts will show. Make sure the polarity is correct or it won't work. No damage to it though if the polarity is not right.
