alright i have been posting on one of the other threads to see if i could figure out wtf is going on with my car. i was just outside checking out my car again. i decided to swap the coils from front to back to see if i would get any different affect when i un hooked the back coils of course you cant start the car and check the back ones so i got done i also ran a ground to each valve cover from the battery making sure troughs ****** braided ground wires where doing a good enough job .started it up and took it around the block a couple times. i still had my miss though i got back and pulled back into the garage and took a look under the car. i never noticed this before witch doesn't mean it wasn't there but my cat was beat red the one on the y pipe not the 3rd one witch is punched out i have seen this before on one of my other cars. i cant remember what it was and how i fixed .it if i did fix it. any ideas. i would guess clogged cat maybe? i have been running some fuel treatments through my car just about every couple tanks . is it just because of un burned gas from my misfire burning up in the cat any ideas

when i got this car i always had this problem witch is with the peddle tot he floor it would take off and then it would fall on its face like it had no gas the bomb take off then bomb fall on its face it also seemed to me that it wasn't quit going like it should like it was holding back or something was holding it back a friend of mine suggested it was a clogged cat but i let it go and never messed with it do you think maybe now it is clogged up ??

oh yeah, thats a clogged cat alright, and yeah if the car was misfiring it was probably dumping fuel out the exhaust and burning up the cats. Time for highflow cats.

that works too if you can get through the curves of the pipe. Make sure you get it all out because when you let off the gas (this is more with mtx but can effect atx too) anything you didnt get out is going to get sucked up into the engine:cool:

I try to keep my cats clear of debris with daily floggings; simply let your right foot fall firmly to the floor and hang on to the steering wheel. Wash, rinse, and repeat! :woohoo:

I replaced a cat that looked like that in a previous car. When I took it to the muffler shop they registered the temperature at 1200 degrees. They had to wait a while for it to cool of before they could do anything to it.

A beat red cat would indicate that lots of raw fuel is getting burnt in the cat. Its running rich. It doesn't mean its clogged. If it were clogged your car would be way down on performance more so than a miss. This miss would prolly be a dead coil and that raw fuel is causing this issue. Keep running it like this and it will toast that cat if its not already now.
