Battery Termials

I am will be replacing the battery terminals on my 90 SHO because I am installing an amp and because they are falling apart. They have 2 wires coming out of them the big one is obviously the main power, but there is a smaller one and I was wondering what that was for, and if it is necessary. Any inside would be good.

I believe it goes to the alternator and/or the EEC

Of course it's needed if it's original.

Which side are you asking about, positive or negative?

Get some of the spring type battery clamps at Wal-Mart. These are OEM on GEN 3s and up. Work very good, are cheap, no lead, light weight and you can bolt cables with lugs to them easily.

it's on both positive and negative, I thought that maybe it was for the factory amps, but didn't know.
