Battery Light?

I was just wondering why my battery light is always on..When I am driving it will sit there and flicker on and off all all different speeds and brightness?IT has been going it for a long time now and I was just wondering why?The battery terminals and everything are clean?thx

Either the battery cable connection at the back of the alternator or the alternator itself. I had the same problems, a flickering battery light and an EATC that went haywire. A reman. alternator fixed my problem. I would take your car to AZ to get it checked before it kills your battery.

The battery light means that the alternator is not charging the battery. Check the voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running. The voltage should be at least 13.5-13.7 volts, preferably over 14.0. If not, the alternator has lived out its useful lifetime.

If that is the case, get a remanufactured alternator. They will save you money and usually provide a lifetime warranty.

my batterie light stays on all the time but not lite all the way up, and i work at advance auto, and i've checked it many time, alternator is good. so is the batterie. light goes off at higher rpms, but always on slightly at idle.

Check out sdpatt's suggestion and check your voltages. The flickering light can also be caused by a loose connection at the altenator. I had a problem on my 95 where the battery light would randomly come on and off, just ended up being a bad connection at the altenator.

try to wiggle the wires at the the alt while its running.
is it still idleing low?

The idle is just weird when I start the car.After I drive for a few minutes it will idle just fine.
