battery light?

Im pretty sure the alternator is gone since the batt light came on cause the battery's good checked voltage running was like 12 or 12.6 i cant remember im sry went to autozone had it charged just in case since i dont want to be stuck lol..... any ideas its kinda weird though case when u first start it the batt light didnt come on then at about 1800 rpm it comes on then after a while it just stays on, i did notice twice today when i just sat there it acted like it went through a electrical cycle and then the light went away then once i started to drive again past 1800rpm it came back on is there a charging relay between the batt and the alternator by chance? im just guessing the brushes are worn or loose.

cause i see a rem alt on ebay for like 75 shipped!!

Did you check the voltage when the car is running? At idle it should be around 13.5-14 volts.

yea it was 12.6 running i thought it was kinda low odd even when revv'd never changed

measured off was 11 on was like 12.6

Its way too low , the standard at idle is 14.4 while 12 (plus or minus .5) when engine off.

Replace before it kills your battery too.
