battery light when started

I bought my 95 SHO last month. It's in very good shape and well tuned. However, in the last couple weeks the battery light comes on when I start the car. If I rev it up a little it goes off and doesn't come back on until I have to start the car again and it sits for a while. It's never left me stranded and starts the same as before. The altenator and positive wiring harness were replaced a little while before I bought the car. I just replaced the battery but it still comes on. I do notice that the lights are kinda dim at idle or at least they get brighter when the car is revved some. Any ideas??

Go have the alternator tested. Just because it's not old doesn't mean it is good.

Sounds like the brushes are hanging up or the commutator needs resurfaced if it is a rebuild.

Got my car, was told the Alt was recently rebuilt. Had starting issues, and also the A/C comp would cut out. This was due to the Alt, had it tested, bad diode or somthing. Before I had it tested, I put a load tester on it, was really weak! Like he said, just because it's new....
