Well, new code, but I've tried all the easy (and cheap stuff) to see if it was the problem such as:

- cleaning MAF several times
- resetting the computer several times
- check to see if there is vaccuum leak, there isn't (car on, unplug IAC)

Bank 1 isn't running lean, so I would assume this isn't a MAF problem, or IAC.

The IAC is less than a couple months old, as well as the TPS sensor.

Could a clogged/dirty fuel filter be the culprit?
Could a bad O2 sensor be the culprit?

I have searched through threads across the forum and there really isn't much data on a single bank being lean, so any help is appreciated!

Bank 1 is in the back to it makes it a little more difficult. But if it's been running like that for a little while you should notice on 1 or more of the plugs. Could be a bad or clogged injector, not sure if it would have to be one or multiple to cause a code.

Could be a bad 02 read.

It's bank 2, not 1, I just ran injector cleaner through it about a week ago. But if it's a clogged injector, wouldn't a code be thrown for that?

Did you do any work that involved removing the intake gaskets lately?

I had to clean the LIM a while back and it threw me a CEL because apparently the gaskets shrunk or weren't fitted yet and allowed some un-metered air to seep in. I reset the light and no problems since.

Have you changed out the O2 sensors yet? If you don't want to spend money on them, do this. Flip flop the sensors between banks and see if the code transfers to the opposite bank.

Yeah, there isn't a air leak, plus I have relatively new gaskets.

I will probably try that. I read another thread on the gen1/2 forums saying that if it's an O2 sensor, then the CEL will reset everytime you turn on the car and come back on after ~5 minutes when the computer goes out of the startup mode (not sure of the right terms). Anyone know if this applies to gen3 as well?

Let me know the outcome. Maybe my discount on O2s will be better than the stuff you wanted to buy last time. :nut:

not sure but i think the cel will always be on if there is a fault on any obd2 veh

If the problem fixes itself such as the intake gaskets obviously did and the battery is then disconnected for a few minutes, the CEL will go off unless it detects another malfunction.

I was at o'reilly's getting my pids and when I cleared the P0172 (lean on bank 2), the two readiness tests for the O2 sensors also cleared. Is this normal?

yes all of your readyness monitors will reset the best way to get them "ready" is to take it on the highway and drive about 20 miles at 65 try not to hit the brake at all it will reset the drive cycle if you can use a scan tool while driving so you can see when they are done it will make it a lot easier
