I just picked up my 93 3.2l and the radio turns on and when you turn it on your can hear a little pop but no sound comes out. You can crank it up all the way and still nothing...If you dont drive the car for about a week the battery is dead.... Im trying to link these two problems together.

FActory radio? Did someone pop the factory one back in when they sold it? Did it have the CD at one time. If so there is a plug that goes in the square hole in the back of the radio to make it work just as a radio. That plug is used also for the signals from the CD player with a harness to the radio. I went through this when I got my car. I could barely hear the music. The Found out about the jumper/plug that goes in that spot and it works fine. NOw this past weekend I scored a CD player at a flea market, I'm getting the harness from a friend. All I have in mine is the red harness end that sends the power to the unit... It all works fine with that, just no sound yet. Til I get the harness in the mail from him. HTH

Yes it is a factory radio with a cd player...Im not to sure if the radio has ever been out of it. When i turn my radio on i dont hear anything at all. Ther has to be a loose wire some where in the system.

I'd pop that sucker out first to see if all is hooked up. Then, its prolly your H/U took a dump if all is hooked up.

Both of the factory radio's in my dads old 93 and my 95 crapped out...would get that annoying popping noise when adjusting volume/bass/treb/etc.

Always a good idea to invest in a decent aftermarket unit anyways...really wakes up the stock systems.

my car did the exact same thing and it turned out to be a bad black amp in the trunk. i could get it to work if i unplugged the amp then plugged it back in while the radio was on, as soon as i opened or closed the drivers door it would shut off again. i had a parts car so I just swapped parts over until i fixed it, since it didnt cost me anything.
