I tore apart the bottom end of my 3.2 tonight and Im not happy with the results. The reason for me tearing it down was because of a supposed rod knock.....and I was right. The rod end bearing spun and is destroyed. Its paper thin with metal flakes all over everything. Thats not the bad part. The rod cap and that section of the crank and crank journal cap are carbon black from the oil burning on the hot metal. The crank isnt scored horribly but it's just enough to slightly catch a nail on and its also black. The rod end is scored and warn down from the bearing spinning instead of moving with the rod. I still have to take the crank out and inspect it further. Hopefully the machine shop can just turn it down and hopefully the rod is still salvagable.

After something like that happens to a rod, IMO its garbage. Don't spend the money to get the crank ground if your going to use that same rod. Your prolly best off to find another engine, It will be cheaper in the long run.
