I'm coming home from A/C today and as soon as I pull off the highway it was as if something started grinding away at my gears. I pushed the clutch in and it slowed the grinding some but no completely. If I let off the clutch, it's the worse grinding sound I could ever hear coming from a manual car. I cannot shift into any other gear except 1st and it still grinds.

Here's the sad news to this story. I just replaced the transmission less than 2 months ago. Total cost was like $2000. WTF did they do for $2000 that would last only 2 months? I swear there's something new wrong with my car everyday that I drive it. I don't have this much black voodoo with my 95 ATX. I've had this car since March of this year and have only been able to drive it for like 2 weeks total time since I've had the car. Everyday, I'm at the mechanic getting something fixed with this car. Just 2 weeks ago, the starter went on the car. Then the battery. Now the alternator. And now, the car isn't drivable again due to the transmission.

Let this be a warning to all who believe what they read on ebay about cars that are supposed to be in execellent shape and good running condition. I won't go back into what happened to me. But just be warned. What you see and read on ebay about a car may not be what your actually getting. This should be posted on every ebay ad that includes sales over $2000. My total bill for this car thus far, has been well over $6000. That's just the $3000 I paid for this heap of metal and other work including a rebuilt transmission. The car is still not in execellent condition nor is it in good running condition. Feel free to jump all over me now. A sucker is born every minute. But it's ok, I learn from my mistakes and I will never be taken for so much money on any used car again.

End of sad story.

P.S. after I get 6 hours of sleep, I'm taking this car back to the place that charged me $2000 for a transmission. This should be covered under the warranty.

Get that mechanic/shop to fix the problem, then never go back to him again. If he doesn't fix it at his own expense, or cannot get it right, take him to court and let him know ahead of time. I don't care if you or your family thinks they know the guy. He's the guy with the 99% chance of where you problems are coming from. Sorry, but girls/ladies that go to a dealer and/or mechanic shop get screwed BAD, as that's the cost of not knowing anything about cars.

Yep sounds like a TOB issue. And on cheap SHO's. I bought mine for $1500 2 years ago. Had 107k on it. Now has 154k. Replaced, radiator, hoses, ball joint, end links, starter, fuel pump (because I didn't want to be stranded), couple sets of pads, rear calipers, had upper 60k performed, new exhaust, ASFB's, KYB struts, battery & cables, IAC, MAF, TPS. Sure I threw some parts in it but I've received 50k miles out of it. These are older cars and they're going to need new parts. What car for the money are you going to get this kind of performance out of?

I'm taking the car back now. The clutch was replaced at a cost of $500.

Sounds like you just had the clutch disc replaced, as that's the only thing that gets replaced with a basic "clutch job" at most shops. Anything extra is going to cost extra. You need to take your car to a SHO Specialist who will be honest with you on your problems and provide excellent work.
