Just got back from AZ Duece Day at Sanderson Ford where we took our 32 Tudor Sedan. Ours is just a stocker but there sure were some pretty cars there. About 150 32's showed up with about half having a flathead of some sort, 25% had chebbie 350's and the remaining cars had anything from big ol Chrysler FirePower hemis to Desoto V-8's and one Lincoln flathead V-12.
Best car on display was a streamliner with a Model T 4 banger in it that just set a record at Bonneville of 201.*** mph. Of course the only thing that was still from a Model T engine was the block. Got to sit in it ( I mean recline in it) turn the steering lock to lock, which was about 1/2 turn; gave you a whole 4 degrees of turn angle. One big a$$ turbo at the very back.
Wildest 32 was one that had rust spots and oil and water stains all over it and you could see where they had chopped the top quite readily. The wild part was that all the rust, bondo patches, weld beads, sanding marks, everything....was made out of fiberglass. Somebody made a fiberglass body for a 32 roadster that looked exactly like an old rusted out rat rod, rusted out spots and all. And all the rusted out spots were in the correct places and the fake weld beads were right where they would have been, had it been a steel body. Pretty dang cool if you ask me.
