Autometer's lighting suck

Well I just got my gauges put in (thanks to Mike E for the help), it looks and works great.
They're Autometer Carbon Fiber Untra Lite electric oil PSI, water temp, and volt (too bad they're not full sweep ones though).

Anyway at night the supplied lights are all but useless, and with the blue condoms even more so so I got some blue 194 bulbs, that brighten things up a little, but still very dim. Have anyone tried the 194 LEDs? Do they help the brightness at all?

Even the "ultra-bright" 194 LEDs are not as bright as standard 194 bulbs

i Went to Pep Boys and picked up some blue bulbs. I think that they are susposed to give you that hid white light look. (they were near the Ricer section). On my Phantoms they work great much whiter light not that crappy yellow.

Get the 168 marker bulbs instead of the 194's.
194=3 watt
168=5 watt
