when getting the a/c charged on my 95 atx I found a tiny broken vacuum line by the brake booster disconnected from the vac block up on the firewall. Fixed it but had not idea what it went to. found out what. put the car in drive the other day and the parking break released by itself. I thought only high trim line lx taurus's got those. anyway it's cool!

I believe the Ebrake assembly has a little manual release lever too.
In case the vacuum won't release it.
The 1966 Mercury Park Lane I learned to drive in had such a beast.

So, if I had to leave the car running would the ebrake stay off, or could I re-apply it? My driveway is a hill :) Sometimes I have to juggle cars, so I'd need to be able to leave it parked and running for a minute.

then 'it' will not work for you! If the car is running, the 'E' brake is off! but...you could add a vac solenoid & manual switch, like the one used to vent the charcoal canister to the TB!

That vac line is actually routed through the shifter mechanism. And, if it's broken, it'll cause a vacuum leak! Fun stuff, eh?
